Trafalgar Night Dinner
Join us for an evening steeped in maritime tradition as we commemorate Lord Nelson's historic victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 – a defining moment that shaped naval history forever. RNA Japan cordially invites all members to our annual exclusive black tie dinner, where we gather to honor this legendary triumph in style and fellowship.
This distinguished event brings together those who appreciate both history and tradition, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and shared respect for our naval heritage.
This time-honored tradition lives on aboard every Royal Navy ship throughout October, and now you have the opportunity to be part of this remarkable legacy – an unforgettable evening where past and present unite in tribute to one of the Royal Navy's finest hours.
Ship Visits
When Royal Navy vessels visit Japan, RNA members have the unique opportunity to board and tour these magnificent working warships, experiencing firsthand the pride and professionalism of the modern Royal Navy.
While we cannot guarantee that all members will have the opportunity to board due to the operational nature of these military vessels, we strive to ensure as many members as possible can participate in these special occasions. Beyond the ship tours, we organize informal gatherings with visiting crews in bars and venues across Tokyo and Yokohama, providing a chance for relaxed conversation and the sharing of stories over drinks.
These encounters foster genuine connections between our Japan-based community and serving naval personnel, continuing the tradition of naval hospitality while offering visiting crews the benefit of our collective knowledge and love for Japan.
Burns Night
Experience a truly spectacular celebration of Scottish heritage and culture at our annual Burns Night – an evening that has drawn considerable attention and acclaim over recent years.
Held at a magnificent venue in the heart of Tokyo, this extraordinary event brings together the finest traditions of Scotland with the warmth of naval fellowship. The evening features a sumptuous three-course menu with haggis ceremonially piped in, accompanied by stirring poetry recitations and traditional Scottish dancing that continues well into the night.
With the haunting melodies of bagpipes, the finest Scottish whisky, and an atmosphere of unbridled celebration, this is truly a night to shine. Due to the exceptional popularity of this event, places are limited, so early booking is essential to secure your spot at one of our most anticipated gatherings of the year.
Remembrance
Every year, RNA Japan joins Commonwealth nations worldwide in paying our respects to the fallen heroes from all wars and conflicts, past and present.
All RNA members and friends are warmly invited to join us for this solemn annual ceremony held at Hodogaya War Cemetery in Yokohama around 11th November.
Following the ceremony, refreshments are provided, offering an opportunity for attendees to connect and reflect together in the spirit of remembrance and fellowship.
